California has no cookie-consent statute. There is no equivalent of the UK’s
PECR reg 6 / Schedule A1 gateways, and no equivalent of Nigeria’s prescriptive
GAID Art 19 banner rules. What California requires instead is disclosure —
specifically about Do Not Track signals and cross-site collection by other
parties. Those two duties are unique to this instance in the whole programme.

Do not add a consent banner. The site sets no cookies, so a banner would ask
for consent to nothing — and in California, unlike the UK or Nigeria, no statute
requires one.

The short version

We do not set cookies on this website. We use no analytics, no advertising
trackers and no social media pixels. We do not track you across other websites or
over time, and we do not build a profile of you.

Do Not Track

There is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. Because we do not
collect information about your online activities over time or across third-party
websites, we do not respond differently to a browser’s Do Not Track signal — there
is no behavior to change. If that ever changes, we will say so here first.

This statement is made to satisfy Bus & Prof Code § 22575(b)(5).

What happens when you visit

1. Our hosting provider records the request — your IP address, the page
requested, the date and time, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use this to
operate and secure the site, not to identify you. These logs are held in the
United Kingdom, where this website is hosted.

2. Fonts are loaded from Google. Our typefaces are served from
fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, so your browser requests them
directly from Google, and Google receives your IP address and browser
user-agent. Because many websites load Google’s fonts, Google is technically
capable of observing the same browser across different sites.

We receive none of that information, we have no arrangement with Google to obtain
it, and we do not use it. Apart from this, no other party collects information
about your activities across websites when you use our site.

This disclosure is made to satisfy Bus & Prof Code § 22575(b)(6).

Self-hosting deletes this section from five documents at once, removes an
overseas disclosure, costs nothing visually, and is a single change to one
WordPress theme shared by all four live sites.

The application

This notice covers the public website. The California application instance is
deployed but not open for registration. It is reached by signing in, and storage
strictly necessary to keep you signed in will be used for that purpose. Information
inside the application is held for your firm, which controls it — see our
Privacy Policy and the Service Provider Addendum your firm signs.

If this changes

If we later add anything that stores or reads information on your device —
analytics, a form that remembers your entries, an embedded video, a live chat
widget — we will update this notice before switching it on, describe what it
does, and update the Do Not Track and cross-site collection statements
above, which are the two things California requires us to keep accurate.
